My visit to Loma Vista Farm

So I recently got the opportunity to go to visit Loma Vista Farm and do some volunteer work. I got a one on one tour of the farm and learned a lot about all the animals. Each one having it's own story. Their are several types of chickens, horses, cows, pigs, goats ducks and geese just to name a few. I must not forget about the vegetable and flower gardens. Oh and George the resident peacock! I have to admit that I did stock George, to try and get an oh so fabulous photo of George's wonderful feathers, but I digress I will have to settle for the photo at above left. George just would not cooperate and show his beautiful feathers for me, and he is a rather illusive fellow. I had a lot of fun, and even got to take home a huge bag full of fresh blackberries! Yum my favorite!

Loma Vista farm has been operating for more then 30 years. It provides learning opportunities for children, including children with disabilities and has many classes throughout the year. Additionally Loma Vista Farm has events such as Growing Nutritional Food Sept. 10, 2010, a Bluegrass Festival Sept. 11, 2010 and a Harvest Festival & craft fair on Oct. 16, 2010. I personally look forward to attending some of these events. See you there! For more info. visit www. lomavistafarm.org
